Laminate Bookshelf Re-Vamp Ideas

When the new etsy desk comes in I'm going to be in full office decorating mode. I'm definitely going to need a bookshelf of some sort to store all the books and magazines that are currently stacked on the floor. Currently,  I have two laminate bookshelves that are just plain brown and not very attractive. I was originally planning on tossing  and replacing them but now that I have come to the realization that decorating a house is quite expensive I'm thinking that I may just give them a face lift. Here are a few inspirations I found surfing the web

Reclaimed Wood Dining Console Options

Media Console Options

I'm on the quest to find the perfect TV stand for our enormous 52" flat screen. I absolutely love the TV (since I'm am a Bravo/HGTV addict along with every other channel...Showtime, hello) and finding the perfect TV stand that looks great and proportional is proving to be a tough decision. Honestly, I haven't nailed down exactly what I'm looking for, but these are definitely piquing my interest!

Office Space in Guest Bedroom

Just ordered this desk on Etsy. I'm hoping it looks this good in person. I've been imagining a simple wooden/rustic desk paired with a Bertoia wire chair for the longest time. After lots of contemplation I took a chance on this one. Its hand-made from reclaimed barn wood by a gentleman from North Carolina. This is my first Etsy purchase and a pretty big one! I'm really looking forward to getting it in the space.

Now I've just got to get THE chair!

Chicken Coops

As long as I've been walking I've been stepping in chicken poop. I can always expect to have a chicken cross my path in my dad's yard. Dad has been raising chickens since he was just a kid and continues to breed and raise them today. We don't eat the ckickens or their eggs, making them more pet than practical. A few of the special ones got names like Henrietta, Francois and Dufus.

I never understood the point of them but I think it makes an interesting hobby. Browsing the net the other day I came across something I thought was pretty cool; a modern-style chicken coop. There are several designs out there. Here are a few of the ones that stood out to me. I'm going to try to convince my dad to build one.
